Public Records Policy

The Miami County Common Pleas Court follows all Public Record Laws and all Ohio Supreme Court Rules of Superintendence for the Courts of Ohio. The Miami County Common Pleas Court will make its public records available within a reasonable time during the regular business hours of the county, which are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., with the exception of legal holidays.  Inquiries may be directed to Stacy Smith, Court Administrator/Custodian of Public Records for the Miami County Common Pleas Court.  All other inquiries wherein a file-stamped copy of pleadings from court proceedings may be obtained through the Miami County Clerk of Common Pleas Court.  

Photocopies

Photocopies of our public records which are directly requested will be provided in exchange for pre-payment of the actual cost of reproducing the same which has been calculated at $0.05 per single page, and $0.10 per double-sided copy. Details as to the availability of reproductions of public records in other media, and the cost of the same, and the cost of providing copies of public records via the mail will be provided upon request.

File-Stamped Copies of Court Records

Requests for file-stamped copies of Court records such as divorce decrees, judgment entries are to be directed to the Miami County Clerk of Courts at (937) 440-6010.  

Transcripts of Proceedings

Request for transcripts of Court proceedings may be obtained from a Court Reporter at the rate determined by the Court's order.
