All RISE CONFERENCE

The Miami County Common Pleas Mental Health Court is led by Judge Stacy Wall. Judge Wall and her treatment team attended the recent national All RISE Conference. The Mental Health Court received a 2024 Opioid Grant for Judge Wall and her treatment team to attend the conference May 28 – 31, 2025.

All RISE is the largest training conference in the nation for those involved with specialized dockets, including mental health, substance abuse, veteran courts, and others.  The All RISE Conference is specifically tailored to enhance the skills, leadership, and training of the treatment court team with over 250 sessions and opportunities to connect and learn from colleagues across the country.   The Ohio Supreme Court held a session where all those attending from Ohio specialized dockets could meet and discuss issues. “Since 1995, All Rise has convened the only national conference for treatment court professionals. Expanding alongside our field, RISE attendance has grown to include a wide array of public health and public safety leaders working to expand treatment for people impacted by substance use and mental health disorders”. (All RISE website).

This year’s conference had 8,000 attendees and provided outstanding training on a multitude of topics as well as a focus area for the individual role, i.e. judges, supervising officers, treatment professionals and coordinators. Judge Wall indicated the wealth of information received as well as the networking that took place was immeasurable. In addition to doctors, judges and other professionals instructing, those who have suffered from such issues and now work in the field to assist others struggling presented on a variety of tools and experiences. Aside from the mainstream courses on what you would expect for treatment and court, information was presented on more outside issues such as legislative changes to Medicaid and how that impacts our participants. To be able to hear from those who deal with the obstacles of treatment courts and provide insight on ideas that we struggle to reach due to limited staff was invaluable. Judge Wall and the treatment team are very thankful for the opportunity through the Opioid grant funds.
