Background Checks

The Board of Miami County Commissioner's Human Resources Department is now offering pre-employment background screens for all prospective employees for every department in Miami County. You can find the Non-Criminal Justice Applicant Privacy Rights statement by navigating to the Forms & Documents link on the left, navigate to "other" and provide a copy to your prospective employee prior to arriving in HR. Invoices for each department will be sent internally on the first day of each month for the prior month's appointments.

Individuals will be seen by appointment only during the following blocks of time (subject to change):

Monday - Friday 9:00-3:00 
*Excluding all Federal Holidays*

To schedule, please send an email to or call 937.440.8045 and leave a voicemail. Either mode of communication should include the name of the prospective employee and the department they will be working for, along with the day you would like them to be seen. Ohio issued identification is mandatory for fingerprint scans, out of state identification will have to be processed with card stock and ink pad through the Miami County Jail Intake Center.

All prospective employees will be submitted for the BCI only report. The FBI report will only be added for individuals in Job and Family Services, Child Support Enforcement Agency, or Public Children Services Agency with access to Federal Tax Information.
