Child Care Program
Subsidized child care is available to families during hours of employment and/or training. Eligibility is based on the family’s monthly gross income and family size. Co-payments are determined according to income and family size. Miami County DJFS can assist eligible families by paying part of the cost, whether you choose a child care center or a licensed home provider.

Who can get child care assistance?
Families whose income is at or below 130 percent of the federal poverty guidelines, can receive payment for all or part of their monthly child care expenses. You only need to re-apply once a year, and you may continue to be eligible for subsidized child care until your monthly income exceeds 300 percent of the federal poverty guideline.

How do I apply for child care assistance?

Applications can be obtained at Miami County Department of Job and Family Services. When you apply you will need to submit the following verifications: income verification from last 30 days and/or employer letter, driver’s license or state ID, verification of school attendance (if appropriate), and copies of children’s birth certificates and social security cards.

You can also apply online here.
