Miami County Transfer Station

The Miami County Sanitary Engineering Department operates the Solid Waste District and Transfer Station in accordance with Ohio EPA guidelines.

The Transfer Station disposes of all refuse collected by municipalities and commercial trash haulers operating in the county. The Transfer Station does not provide curbside hauling, but waste is disposed of brought to the Transfer Station from residents, commercial and industrial sources. The Solid Waste District also provides recycling and waste reduction programs for Miami County residents, businesses and schools. Be sure to visit our Recycling Center, and also check out upcoming events and special programs!

For Residents that are coming to the Transfer Station, it is recommended that you bring your own hand tools for unloading your materials such as rock or shingles.

  • Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • Saturday from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm
  • Closed on Sunday

  • Christmas and New Years Day
  • Closing at 4 pm on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve

  • Charges for refuse are $49.05 per ton plus $4.75 per ton OEPA Fee which is approximately 3 cents per pound.
  • There is a minimum charge of $5.00 for 200 pounds or under.
  • Payment can be made either by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.

  • Passenger tires - $3 per tire plus weight
  • Truck tires - $6 per tire plus weight
  • Farm tires - $20 per tire plus weight
  • Low Density Surcharge - $16.50/ton X Difference in Minimum & Actual Weight
  • Labor for Digout - $65 per hour
  • Lead Acid Batteries – taken through the transfer station and charged by weight.
  • Pay as you Throw Program – buy 5, 30 gallon trash bags for $6.00. Bring full bags to a drop site in the Recycling Center.
  • Vehicle Weigh - $10.00
  • Returned Check fee - $35.00
  • Freon Filled Appliances - $10 per appliance
  • Spill Cleanup - $40 per hour plus material, equipment and disposal

  • Lead Acid Batteries - These batteries are taken and charged by weight at the Transfer Station at the regular tipping fee.
  • Pay as you Throw Program - $6.00 for 5, 30 gallon trash bags. Bags may be purchased at the scales house.
  • Tree Waste - Charged by weight at the regular tipping fee at the Transfer Station.
  • Household Hazardous Waste - The Transfer Station accepts Household Hazardous Waste on Wednesdays from 9 am - 1 pm, from April to October. Cost for disposal is $1 per pound.
  • Electronics Recycling - Electronics can be recycled at the Transfer Station, at the regular tip fee, year-round.
  • Latex Paint Program - The Transfer Station offers disposal of latex paint for residents of Miami County, proper disposal of household paint is offered at the Miami County Transfer Station. A limit of 15 gallons will be accepted per day. 
  • Watercraft Disposal: For residents that are wanting to dispose of their watercraft, the title for the watercraft will need to be collected when it is disposed per the Ohio Division of Natural Resources. A form will also need to be sent to the ODNR Division of Watercraft.
