The office of the Miami County Engineer coordinates
efforts with the Board of County Commissioners to provide the following services and
functions: |

COUNTY HIGHWAYS:
Our office is responsible for the maintenance and upgrade of the County
Highway System. Responsibilities include paving, traffic control,
safety improvement projects, mowing, edgeline & centerline paint striping, and snow
removal. The County Engineer maintains 429 miles of roadway, 7,739
signs, 340 bridges, and 2,558 culverts. For more information about

TOWNSHIP HIGHWAYS:
Our office provides engineering assistance to the Township Trustees
representing the 12 townships in the County. The townships maintain
268 miles of roadway. |

DRAINAGE: Our
office is responsible for roadside drainage, as well as maintenance of
certain agricultural drainage infrastructure. This infrastructure
includes 11.95 miles of open ditches, 6.74 miles of underground tile, and
0.42 miles of grass waterways. |
|
MAPPING: The Tax
Map Department is responsible for creating, updating and organizing the tax
maps for Miami County, as well as the creation of a current, accurate map of
the County as a whole. The Department maintains 13,200 survey plats, 3,800
record plats, 2,500 tax maps, 745 aerial photos, and numerous other maps and

ENGINEERING:
Our office is responsible for engineering and surveying associated with the
following activities: Design, coordination and inspection of County
construction projects; Review of proposed site development plans and
performance of inspections; Processing of permits for work undertaken
