The Clerk of Courts maintains all official records of the Common Pleas Court, including detailed records of domestic, civil, and criminal legal cases.
Lawsuits begin with the filing of a complaint in the Clerk's office. The Clerk issues summons, court orders, and other papers for service upon litigants.
The Clerk also is responsible for disbursing to the proper parties the funds received from court judgements, court costs, and other fees.
The Clerk serves as Clerk of the Court of Appeals which hears and rules on all cases appealed from both the Common Pleas Court and the Miami County Municipal Court.
Notary and Real Estate Licenses are attained in the Clerk's office.
The Clerk also administers the Auto Title Department.
