MIAMI COUNTY RESIDENTIAL PERMIT FEES
Separate structures require separate building permits
Effective: January 1, 2010
BUILDING
Dwellings or additions (Using exterior dimensions this includes all floors, basements, roof covered porches, carports or the like.)
• Up to 600 sq.ft. - $90.00. Additional sq. footage at .10¢ /sq.ft.
Modulars/Factory Manufactured (Non-HUD Units)
• $350.00 plus $100 electric service, plus .10¢ /sq.ft. for additional sq. footage added at the job site.
Detached accessory structures or additions to them. (Includes garages, pole barns, ramps, storage or utility buildings, gazebos, carports, picnic shelters and the like.) Detached accessory structures 200 sq.ft. or less do not require a permit except all decks with floor surface 30” above adjacent grade regardless of square footage.
• $50.00 plus .05¢ /sq.ft.
• All Ramps, $50.00 plus .05¢ / sq. ft.
Alterations, repairs or other inspections required by the adopted codes
Residential Wind Turbine (each). Foundation and Final Inspection -- $45.00.
(Additional fee for electric).
HEATING & COOLING
• Pre-Fabricated Fireplaces or heating stoves in new or existing dwellings - $30.00 each.
• Masonry Fireplaces in new dwellings or additions - $60.00 each; in existing dwellings - $85.00 each. Repairs - $25.00.
• New installations or Replacements – First unit $50.00 – additional units - $15.00 each.
• Duct extensions – Room additions using existing furnace - $25.00
Units include furnaces, boilers, central A/C condensers, air handlers.

No refunds.
An additional 1% is added to all residential permits for state assessment fees.
Penalty Fees:
If work is started before the building permit is issued, all fees are doubled plus the 1% state assessment fee.
Missed inspection penalty fees are $50.00 plus the 1% state assessment fee.
